Passing Down Passion, Cultivating Hope — The Indigenous Baseball Association Lights Up a Brighter Future for Rural Youth
Taiwan Indigenous National Baseball Association(hereinafter referred to as(original stick)
The general impression of the Association is that it is only about the Care Cup, but Secretary General of the Association, Mr. Chen Chun-chi, emphasized, "The Association has a very good reputation in the world, and we are very proud of it.The original baseball association does not want to "promote" baseball, but focuses on the "development" of baseball in the East and the remote areas (indigenous people's areas). In addition to the Care Cup's annual inspection and care for children and schools, efforts to assist the normal development of third-level baseball in remote areas, as well as the rights and interests of original ballplayers in professional baseball and the assistance of career planning for original ballplayers after retirement, are all the biggest purposes for the establishment of the Association."In addition to helping them get on the field and play. What the organization wants more than anything else is to give children an equal perspective and more choices in life. This is the key to turning the background of the remote villages around.

Caring Cup
fromThe Pacific Professional Baseball Fraternity, the predecessor of the original Baseball Association, began.1994The first Caring Cup was organized in 2007, and the first Caring Cup was held at1998Formally established the Taiwan Indigenous National Baseball Association.
existWith the help of many people, it has become the longest unofficially organized ball game in Taiwan and has produced many of today's shining stars of professional baseball. For example, CHAN Yung-kee and YEUNG Yiu-fun were the first batch of minor league players.
CITIC Brothers' Mr. Cheung Chi-Ho guides the Caring Cup students.
Apart from nurturing the stars of tomorrow, what is the significance of the Caring Cup?
Many of the children were inspired by the professional baseball players in the Caring Cup. After joining the Japanese staff, Song Wenhua called to express his hope to join the Original Baseball Association and thanked the Caring Cup seniors for their care and encouragement in the past. There are also principals, teachers, and coaches who have been involved for 20 to 30 years, quietly working hard in remote areas to fight for resources for children and provide them with a secure playing environment, especially the hard-working grass-roots coaches, who give up the time they have for their own families and children to take care of other people's children.Mr. Chan Chun-chi, former Secretary General of the HKBA, was touched as he counted all the help he received from the Care Cup.
In addition, Zhou Siqi established the Bud Scholarship and Gao Guoqing donated his salary to his alma mater to thank Mr. Guo Yuanzhi for helping him with his scholarship when he was a child.
Unified Lions Kao Kwok Ching and Lin Chun Han.Like a relay, the light continues to shine, touching many people.
Chan Chun-chi was born in2015After stepping down from the post of Secretary General of the BBSA, he was recommended by two former chairmen of the BBSA, Mr. Cheung Tai Shan and Mr. Wu Chun Tat, to be the Secretary General of the BBSA.But as early as 2001, when Chan Chun-chi was working as a public relations and marketing officer in a middle-school job, he started to come into contact with the Care Cup.After seeing the dedication of many baseball players to the children in remote villages, I was touched and have been a volunteer for the Care Cup almost every year since then.
"Every time I see the children who used to be coached by the baseball players at the Huadong Stadium, grow up and join the professional baseball team a few years later, and then return to the Caring Cup to coach their younger siblings, I feel that this meaning is too important, and that the Caring Cup, with the help and concern of many people over the years, has never been discontinued, and it is also one of the unofficial cups organized by the government in Taiwan, and I hope that the sense of mission will continue forever.Chen Jun Chi's eyes glowed as he said.
What's Next for the Original Baseball Association?
Chan Chun-chi said that the incumbent former baseball chairman, Lam Chi-sing, thinks thatExpanding the horizons and future of baseball children, and continuing to care for the hometowns and assisting the development of baseball in remote areas is the most important goal. This is why we care not only for the kids, but also for the coaches. So it's not just about the kids, it's about the coaches, and it's about helping the kids see that there are more career possibilities than just playing soccer.
We are now co-organizing with the Sports Department the "Indigenous People's Enhanced Coaching Programme", which not only strengthens the basic coaching skills, but also enhances the comprehensive skills of coaches, including leadership and psychology, marketing and publicity, sports science, and competition administration, etc., so as to assist coaches to increase the competence of their own job through the courses, and to give the children a better journey of learning.
Lam Chi Shing, former Chairman of the Hong Kong Baseball Association
Why do you emphasize on raising your child's eyes?
ChanToshike said he once asked an Eastern baseball kid, "If you can't make it to the professional baseball team in the future, what do you want to be? The kid answered either to be a coach or a laborer. However, the sports world is very realistic, only one or two out of a hundred children playing baseball can enter the professional baseball, but the growth process of the young players almost all revolve around baseball, almost every day with the team to live together, and even away from their hometowns, not only can not take care of both academic disciplines, coupled with the remote villages, mostly intergenerational upbringing, or the parents are busy with their work, so that they can not take care of both academic disciplines.Playing baseball may be the only way out of the future that they can think of.In mature sports countries, the peripheral economy of the sport is booming.
One.The sports industry can encompass marketing and communications, stadium operations, health care, medical and rehabilitation, nutrition and psychology, sports science, as well as the value generated by peripheral markets such as merchandise, broadcasting, advertising, and tourism.Although the sports industry still has a lot of room for growth in Taiwan, it is important to let children know that not being on the field does not necessarily mean that they have to waste their baseball experience from childhood, and that life is not all about playing ball.consequentlyThis year, the Original Baseball Association, with the assistance of the Original Citizens' Association and TSMC.A series of training programs on baseball's second specialty will be offered. Through baseball veterans, children will be instructed on how to become a player who can be "seen" not only playing the game, but also on other comprehensive skills, such as foreign language skills, leadership and mental qualities, and even personal charisma and attitude, which will be helpful for their career development.

Passing on the blood, starting again from the original point
In the interview, Chen Chun-chi, a record broadcaster and former secretary general of a middle school team, had a fascinating experience with baseball, but he humbly described himself as a baseball trainee, leaving the halo to the players. ButBut you can find in his story that he felt the passion and legacy spirit in baseball. He is especially grateful to Mr. Huang Chun-Tai, the former president of the BOC, for his support. He had asked him several times for his willingness to serve as the secretary of the BOC, but Chen Chun-Chi declined because he felt that his ability was limited at that time, but he was moved by Mr. Huang's determination to reform the BOC, but unfortunately, due to the issue of the broadcasting rights, he resigned from his post, and he left the BOC as a result. However, Mr. Huang's reforms and pioneering efforts laid the foundation for the development of baseball in the future. The journey has been so emotional, and the fact that he wanted to leave but couldn't has made Chen Chun-chi want to continue to give to Taiwan baseball even after he left the mid-career stage. Nowadays, there may be fewer resources to utilize than before, but they are more local and closer to the starting point.
Who knows if one of these young players will be another light of Taiwan in the future?
No one can predict that a single idea given to a child may turn his life around. From caring for children in remote villages, to coaching and even planning for the retirement of the original players. The Original Baseball Association is trying to do a lot, and by gathering all the people's silent contributions, we hope to light up a bigger future for baseball in Taiwan.
