You may wonder how the physically challenged can shine on the sports field. How do they juggle their day-to-day jobs withProfessional Athletes? These stories are different from the rest of the world, and today, we invite them to share their stories with us.

God's joke is not to deprive, but to give.

Wang's story began at the age of two when he suffered from amniotic band syndrome, resulting in the amputation of his leg below the thigh. However, an encounter with wheelchair tennis was the turning point of his life. For Tang, who has been physically challenged since childhood, it was the first time he experienced the feeling of running.
王偉軒
The feeling of speed, the feeling of freedom that gives a new meaning to his life; the power of control, the grip of the racket to hit back the fast ball; the joy of achievement, the indomitable personality that makes him perfect his game.
These experiences have helped Wang find a new place to belong. Whether it was in his social circle or in his passion, it became the driving force behind his dedication to the world of wheelchair tennis, and this driving force has resulted in the Wang we see today, shining brightly in the world of wheelchair tennis!
Tang, also a future star of wheelchair tennis, has a very different story from Wang. Like most people, Tang was once an active student who loved sports and was physically fit. However, fate put him through an amazing test. A seemingly ordinary injury and inflammation, the very low chance of germs invading his nervous system, made this energetic college student lose the ability to move freely.
However, the real surprise does not come from God's joke, but Wang Wei-Hsuan's and Tang Chao-Han's attitude towards setbacks. Instead of depriving them of their innocence and passion, the challenges of the heavens opened up a unique path!

The devil of life, but a reflection of the process of enjoyment.

It's a lie to say that there are no setbacks; what matters is how we face them. When you go through the stories of Siu Hon and Wai Hin, you will realize that the mentality of facing setbacks can shape your life.
Watching Tang in action, it's hard to imagine that he once struggled to get into a wheelchair. It's even harder to imagine that he is now a sportsman who can blend himself perfectly with the racket. At one time, it was difficult to reach the maximum number of bounces on a tennis ball.
With their physical disadvantages, the effort is especially hard, but setbacks only really affect you if you truly see them as obstacles!
"It's just a matter of not giving in. If there's an obstacle, I'll try to conquer it."
Talking about the setbacks, Wang said
For many people, setbacks are like a high mountain, consuming energy and time, and it is uncertain whether they can cross it successfully. But for Wang, setbacks are just a devil in the game; each challenge makes his will stronger, he is not only not defeated by setbacks, but also enjoys the process of challenge!
As for Tang, his story of frustration is a different one. Many might have thought that being physically challenged would be harder for him to accept after his college years. But Tang's naivety and cheerfulness make what could have been a drastic change in his life seem like a normal day-to-day routine.
唐兆漢
"When it happened, I wasn't as emotional or agitated as people think. I've just been surfing the net looking for solutions, that's all."
Tang told us so with a relaxed smile.

Self-Discipline and Freedom, Real Life and Challenges of Athletes with Disabilities

Wang and Tang have a day job like most people, but they are different from most people in that they also have the role of a professional footballer. They show a high degree of self-discipline after their day jobs and find time to train after work.
Wang shared that he does independent skill training on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6 pm until the court lights go out, and wheelchair training on Monday and Wednesday at the Riverside Park to improve his speed. For physically challenged tennis players, physical training is crucial. This makes it possible for Wang to train on his own five days a week, with his only private coaching session on Saturdays under the guidance of Mr. Lin Yong-hua, who was the former coach of the Olympic wheelchair tennis team in the Paralympics, ROC.
Tang has scheduled tennis skills training on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, and fitness training on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. During the six days of training, Friday is the only time with coaches, and is conducted in alternate weeks.
唐兆漢
As a matter of fact, physically challenged athletes need to devote more time and energy to equipment assistance and skill training than ordinary athletes because they need to use not only their own bodies, but also need to work in perfect harmony with the equipment.
This means that the suitability of specialized equipment for athletes and the skill of the athletes in using the equipment require the cooperation of experts in various specialized fields to ensure that athletes can perform safely and efficiently in international competitions.
While athletes with disabilities overcome unimaginable challenges with perseverance and passion, and rise to the international stage through independent exploration and problem solving, Taiwan's sports environment still difficult to provide athletes with better resources to assist them, and they often have to rely on themselves.

Witness the power of community support

Taiwan's physically challenged athletes do not receive much subsidy in Taiwan and must rely on their own strength to raise resources. Therefore, on the issue of resource investment, Wai Hin and Siu Hon initiated an online fundraising campaign in the middle of this year, and the results exceeded their expectations, reaching their fundraising goal quickly, especially the sports wheelchairs needed for the competition, which received considerable help!
"Everyone was very caring, and we met a lot of kind-hearted people during the fundraising process. People we know, people we don't know, and even people we've only met once, all participated in the fundraising!
"One of the students even wrote an article to raise funds, and he also donated a lot of money himself. Some people always say that their influence on others is limited, but I didn't realize that I have such a great influence! Wang and Tang were very grateful for this fundraising effort!
This fundraising has also propelled Wang and Tang to the international stage. They said their next goal is the Olympics, and they are looking forward to going to the international arena with the support and passion for the sport of tennis!
王偉軒
They brought their experience from overseas tournaments back to Taiwan and combined their own experience to pass it on. They thought about how to realize the professionalization of physically challenged tennis in foreign countries. What is the gap between professionalization and Taiwan's standard? What resources are still needed for domestic players to meet the international standards?
These positive cycles have begun to germinate under the leadership of Wang and Tang. This is a seed that was not easy to come by, and how it will grow in Taiwan will require the participation of more enthusiasts, and even potential new stars. Whether it's showing support or giving encouragement, everyone is an important part of the development of tennis for the physically challenged. You and I can be a force for the future of physically challenged tennis in Taiwan.

Words of encouragement for Wang and Tang to overcome difficulties

"Don't forget your original intention!"
"When you desire or want something, the whole universe comes to your aid!"
"Don't forget the beginning!" and "When you desire or want something, the whole universe will come to your aid! These two phrases are not only shared by Wang and Tang but also serve as a supportive force for them throughout their frustrating years.
王偉軒、唐兆漢
The journey is full of challenges, and even though they are strong and positive, they know only too well the difficulties involved. Overcoming physical barriers, becoming one with their aids, the lack of exposure for athletes in Taiwan, and the lack of resources for the strongest athletes...
These are achievements that require more than passion, and "Never Forget What You Want" has become the strength of Tang's perseverance. Through understanding their stories and the hard work behind them, we also witnessed Wang's belief, "When you desire or want something, the whole universe will come to your aid! When you desire or want something, the universe will come to your aid!
Wang Wei-Hsuan and Tang Chao-Han, two warrior-like beings, brought the interview to a successful conclusion with the words that accompanied them through difficulties. May the words that accompanied them in overcoming obstacles and moving towards a unique path also accompany you towards the place you want to reach.
